Commercialization of Christmas

All the commercials on TV and Radio, all the advertisement in the Newspaper and Postal deliveries, and the Chistmas Decorations and Gift Displays in most places for shopping are overwhelming! It is hard to NOT be caught up in the trap of overspending, decorating, and party planning to celebrate Christmas. Jim and I are going to share our love and talents (watching grandchildren/parents time-out together coupons, recipe making/cooking, sewing (nativity display), opening our home for visits, sending Christmas cards, phone calls) with our friends and family this year. The Santa expectations of younger grandchildren, and of Shari, will be the only purchasing in which we plan to endulge (except for the need we feel to give our Mother's a special treat because they have always been so special in our lives). Coupons to have a special time to gether will be given to our older children: such as going fishing, camping, or attending an event which we could mutually enjoy/have interaction together - such as touring a museum.

Jesus Christ is the reason we are joyful at Christ mas, as well as all year long!
